Plaza Lavalle / Lavalle Square:

El Sábado 25 de Mayo, y para festejar el día de la patria se realizó la salida complementaria de Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires a Plaza Lavalle.
La salida se organizó por pedido del Arq. Alejandro Soneira, profesor adjunto de la cátedra de Arquitectura 2 de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, bajo la titularidad del arq. Adolfo Mondejar para dibujar junto a 60 alumnos de 2º año de la cátedra, en su paso por la ciudad, como viaje de estudios.

On Saturday May 25, and to celebrate the day of the homeland, took place the complementary outing of Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires to Lavalle Square.
The meeting was organized by order of Architect Alejandro Soneira, assistant professor of Architecture 2 of the National University of Córdoba, under the ownership of arch. Adolfo Mondejar to draw along with 60 second-year students of the cathedra, on their way through the city, as a study trip.




Día nublado y frío, salí bien abrigado.
Ya de antemano tenía pensado dibujar el Mirador Massue, mutilado exponente del Art Nouveau de la ciudad, pero finalmente me decidí por el Teatro Colón. Sentado muy cerca del ángulo sobre Libertad y Viamonte, abarque todo el edificio, deformando bastante la perspectiva para que entre todo en la hoja, con algo de entorno para contextualizar el croquis.
Dibujado con lapicera Kaweco AL Sport con pluma EF con tinta marrón resistente al agua en hoja Schoellershammer 25x35cm de 300gms.
Linda tarde de dibujo a pesar del frío. Luego hicimos la Expo de la producción del día.

Cloudy and cold day, I left well snugged.
Already in advance I had planned to draw the Mirador Massue, mutilated exponent of the Art Nouveau of the city, but finally I decided on the Teatro Colón. Sitting very close to Libertad and Viamonte St. corner, and to cover the whole building, distorting the perspective enough so that everything fits in the page, with some environment to contextualize the sketch.
Drawn with Kaweco AL Sport fountain pen with EF nib with water resistant brown ink in 300gms Schoellershammer 25x35cm sheet.
Nice drawing afternoon despite the cold. Then we did the Expo of the production of the day.

Libreta Moderna Buenos Aires / Moderna Buenos Aires sketchbook:

Moderna Buenos Aires hizo una propuesta a Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires para intervenir 50 libretas de dibujo de las 200 que entrega anualmente a sus asociados.
Las libretas con dibujos originales se entregarán en ocasiones especiales o a visitantes ilustres.
La consigna fue hacer un croquis en la primera hoja, preferentemente de alguna obra moderna que figure en el catálogo de MBA.

Luego de recorrer la página web en busca de las obras que me interesaba dibujar, me decidí nuevamente por el Edificio Kavanagh, que ya dibuje en otras oportunidades.
Aparte de ser un perfecto exponente del movimiento moderno de la arquitectura de Buenos Aires, estaba condicionado por el formato de la libreta, de medidas 9 x 14cm, y abierta es de 9 x 28cm. O sea que debía encontrar un edificio de proporciones similares para hacer una composición medianamente digna.

Solo me quedará la intriga de saber quien será el futuro dueño de la libreta con mi croquis.

Moderna Buenos Aires made a proposal to Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires to draw on 50 sketchbooks of the 200 that they gives annually to his associates.
The sketchbooks with original sketches will be delivered on special occasions or to illustrious visitors.
The tender was to make a sketch on the first page, preferably of a Modern Movement architecture that appears in the MBA catalog.

After going through the website searching for the buildings that I was interested in drawing, I decided again for the Kavanagh Building, which I already draw in other opportunities.
Apart from being a perfect example of the modern movement of Buenos Aires architecture, I was conditioned by the format of the sketchbook, that measures 9 x 14cm, and open is 9 x 28cm. So I had to find a building of similar proportions to make a fairly dignified composition.

I will remain with the intrigue of knowing who will be the future owner of the notebook with my sketch.

Plaza Francia / France Square:

El sábado 16 de Julio se realizó la salida 64 de Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires a la Plaza Francia, pleno barrio de La Recoleta.

La realidad es que la juntada fue en la Plaza Intendente Alvear, pero se le llama Plaza Francia a todo el conjunto verde de ese lado de Av. del Libertador.

On Saturday, July 16 took place the #64 Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires outing to France Square, in Recoleta neighborhood.

The real thing is that the outing took place on Intendente Alvear Square, but is called Plaza Francia to all green set on that side of Del Libertador Av.

Ya fui decidido a dibujar el Monumento ecuestre a Carlos María de Alvear, con la idea de hacer una vista panorámica de Plaza Intendente Alvear, con el campanario de la Basílica Nuestra Señora del Pilar, el Centro Cultural Recoleta, etc de fondo. Hacia un frio de a ratos insoportable cuando soplaba viento. Dibuje con guantes, campera y gorro. También complete con acuarelas en el lugar.

Dibujado en libreta Moleskine A4 para acuarela a doble hoja. Dibujo en micro fibra 005 y acuarelas en el sitio. Aproximadamente 2:30 horas

I already went determined to draw the Monument to General Carlos Maria de Alvear, with the idea of making a panoramic view of the Mayor Alvear Square, with bell tower of the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, Recoleta Cultural Center, etc at the background. It was cold, really cold with unbearable moments when the wind blows. Draw with gloves, jacket and cap. Also complete with watercolors on site.

Drawn on Moleskine A4 Watercolor Album in double page.With 005 fine liners and watercolors on site. In 2:30 hours.

Cuando termine con el primer croquis tenía poco menos de 1 hora antes de la juntada general, y para escapar del frío me metí en el Cementerio de la Recoleta. Ya había dibujado ahí, pero tiene tantos rincones interesantes que seguramente encontraba algo más.

Primero me detuve con un abarrotado recorte contra el cielo de agujas, esculturas, cornisas y ventilaciones. Lindo contraste para dibujar.

Ya camino a la salida del cementerio y con unos minutos más, me llamó la atención la tumba que hizo Justa Maria de Atucha a su esposo. Arranque por el rincón más interesante pero no pude terminar, ya estaba en horario.

De estos 2 croquis solo hice el trabajo de línea. Complete con acuarelas en casa.

Dibujado en cuaderno Stillman & Birn con micro fibra 005 en 30 minutos el primero y 20 minutos el segundo. Luego acuarela en mi escritorio.

When finished with the first sketch had little less than 1 hour before the general gathered, and to escape the cold got into the Recoleta Cemetery. I had already drawn there, but has many interesting corners that certainly was something else.

First I stopped by a crowded cut against the sky, with needles, sculptures, cornices and ventilations. An interesting contrast to draw.

In my way out of the cemetery and a with a few more minutes, I noticed the grave Justa Maria de Atucha built for her husband.  Start by the most interesting corner but could not finish, I was on schedule.

Of these two sketches I only did the line work. Later completed with watercolors at home.

Drawn on Stillman & Birn sketchbook with 005 fine liner for 30 minutes the first and 20 minutes the second. Later added watercolors at my desk.

A las 17hs nos juntamos todos los croquiseros en el Monumento a Carlos María de Alvear para compartir nuestra producción. Luego un merecido café con tostado para calentarnos un poco.

Dia de Palermo / Palermo Day:

El Sábado 25 de Junio Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires fue invitado a exponer dibujos en “Café Cortázar” con motivo de los festejos del Dia de Palermo.

La consigna fue dibujar el café y distintos puntos de interés del barrio para armar una exposición en el 1° Piso del Bar.

El Día del barrio de Palermo se instituyó a través de la ordenanza 43.653 de 1989. Con respecto al origen del nombre de este barrio, las discusiones aún continúan. La primera de las dos hipótesis más difundidas y posibles vincula esta denominación con Juan Domínguez Palermo, quien a principios del siglo XVII era el propietario de las tierras; la segunda nos dice que el mismo deriva de un oratorio en el que se veneraba una imagen de San Benito de Palermo.

On Saturday June 25 Croquiseros Urbanos de Buenos Aires was invited to exhibit drawings in "Café Cortazar" on the occasion of the celebrations of the Day of Palermo neighborhood.

The slogan was to draw the coffee shop and various POI’s of the area to put together an exhibition on 1st Floor Bar.

Day of Palermo was instituted by the ordinance 43.653 of 1989. With regard to the origin of the name of this neighborhood, discussions continues. The first of the two most widespread and possible hypothesis links this name with Juan Dominguez Palermo, who in the early seventeenth century it was the owner of the land; the second tells us that it derives from an oratory in which an image of San Benito of Palermo was worshiped.

Esta fue una actividad complementaria de Croquiseros. Se llevó a cabo un mes antes de la expo, y cada uno era libre de ir a dibujar en cualquier momento.

Un sabado soleado pero de mucho frio combinamos con Walter y Gonzalo para ir juntos, aparte Gonza vino con su hija Clarita. Luego de un buen rato dibujando en la calle fuimos a tomar un buen café con torta en Café Cortazar. Muy linda tarde, compartida con amigos!.

Obviamente los 4 dibujamos la fachada del café.

This was an complementary activity of Croquiseros. It was held one month before the expo, each was free to go at any time draw.

A sunny but very cold Saturday got together with Walter and Gonzalo to draw, and Gonza came with his daughter Clarita. After a long while drawing on the street we went to have a coffee with cake at Café Cortazar. Very nice evening shared with friends !.

Obviously the 4 of us draw the facade of coffee.

El sabado siguiente fui a dibujar la fachada de Francisco Acuña de Figueroa al 1569. Un edificio de arquitectura industrial de principios del siglo pasado. Charlando con el dueño, me comentaba que su abuelo lo había construido con destino de aserradero, que luego terminó como garage.

Ese dia fui con mi hija, y los 2 pasamos la tarde dibujando en la calle.

Luego de dibujar la fachada, Lucila dibujó un viejo portón con grafitis y yo un viejo y abandonado Citroen CX (hermoso auto!).

The following Saturday I went to draw the facade of 1569 Francisco Acuña de Figueroa St. An industrial architecture building of early last century. Chatting with the owner, he tells me that his grandfather had built it with sawmill destination in mind, which then ended up as garage.

That day I went with my daughter and we spent the afternoon drawing on the street.

After drawing the facade, Lucila drew an old gate with graffiti and I an old and abandoned Citroen CX (beautiful car!).

Rocha - Casimires / Rocha Cashmere:

Hacia un buen tiempo quería regalar a mi amigo David que, finalmente el sábado 30 de abril decidí salir a cumplir. El alguna vez me había comentado que este negocio tiene que ver con su familia. No tenía mucho que pensar, aparte que es una hermosa esquina para quedar bien con un amigo :D.

From some time ago I wanted to give my friend David a sketch as a present, so on Saturday April 30 I decided to fulfill. Once he told me that this business has to do with his family. There was not much to think about, besides that this is a beautiful corner to get along with a friend :D.

El edificio fue proyectado por Pablo Scolpini y terminó su construcción en 1925. En la planta baja funcionó desde entonces Casimires Rocha y en los pisos superiores casas de renta. En 2009 el Museo de la Ciudad reconoció a Rocha Casimires como uno de los locales y edificios porteños que mantienen sus características originales y expresan la memoria de distintas épocas.

The building was designed by Pablo Scolpini and finished its construction in 1925. On the street level established Rocha Cashmere, and houses for rent on the upper floors. In 2009 the City Museum recognized Rocha Cashmere as one of the shops that retain their original features and express the memory of different periods.

El dibujo lo realice en el lugar, con lapicera Kaweco con pluna EF con tinta resistente al agua marron en hoja suelta Canson Montval 270gms, en 2hs aproximadamente. Luego acuarelas en mi escritorio.
