This is Maipú and Sarmiento St., in downtown Buenos Aires. A few months ago the city government is changing some of the streets to pedestrian priority. Cars may move, but are mostly pedestrian, which makes a nice quiet place to draw. For those unfamiliar with the city's downtown, the sidewalks are less than a meter wide, there are cars parked everywhere and heavy traffic, difficult place to stop and draw a while.
These building is a classic office rent found throughout the center. This must be from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
Another issue that exposes this drawing is when a building is missing, neighboring party walls are fully exposed to view, a situation that occurs all over Buenos Aires.
In this case I leaned on a newspaper and magazine kiosk and draw almost 1:40hs, with 005 fine liner and then touch some strokes with 01, finished with watercolors on my desk. On Brugge sketchbook 12x19cm, 180grm.
